Maple Trees

This weekend we received two trees from my parents as a housewarming gift! Mitch and my dad worked very hard Saturday putting the two trees in the ground. Friday night and Saturday morning, Mitch spent a few hours digging some large holes (while praying that we chose spots that avoided the sprinkler lines) and then they planted them on Saturday afternoon. One tree is a Red Sunset Maple, and its leaves are bright red in the fall. It has lost a lot of leaves since my parents picked it up, but we look forward to seeing it full again next fall. The second tree is an itty-bitty tree my parents transplanted that they have been trying to grow at their house. It's kind of an experimental tree as we are not sure what kind of maple tree it is or even if it will survive the winter. It has been growing at my parents' house since about the time Kaden was born, so it will be fun to watch it grow as Kaden grows! We'll see how it turns out in the spring! :)
