Chicago Fun

This past weekend, my great high school friends and I all "celebrated" our last year before we turn 30 in Chicago (as none of us have newborns or are pregnant...but some will probably be when our 30th birthdays come around this year)! My friend, Natalie, lives in Chicago, so the 6 of us stayed there Saturday night. We had a blast! We saw the air show along the lake, which was fun to watch during lunch. Then, we walked along the lakeshore and headed down Michigan Avenue for some afternoon shopping. It was SO hot, but we found some good deals and took advantage of the free tax day in Chicago all day (especially since their taxes went up to 10%!). After shopping, we took a taxi van back to Natalie's and hung out for the rest of the afternoon. We headed for a late dinner at Dinotto's, which was within walking distance of Natalie's apartment. After a walk down Wells Street after dinner, realizing we aren't the party animals we used to be ;), we headed back to Natalie's to hang out more and head to bed. The most wonderful thing about all of these girls is that it's so easy to catch up where we left off and have a great time together! We get together with everyone about twice a year, so it's great to say that we can pick up easily with one another. We did miss Kate for this weekend, however, as she lives in Dallas. We hope to make this an annual summer weekend thing...even amidst pregnancies, babies, and other major life events! Once again, love my high school friends and so glad for a weekend away. Thanks to my GREAT husband for having the kids for the weekend so I could enjoy the fun!
