Michigan Football Spring Game

For Valentine's Day, I gave Mitch a little card I made inviting him to the Michigan Football Spring Game, which was yesterday. (cheap gift, as the game is free :)) We had never been to the spring game, and Mitch had always said we should go. So, I set up our babysitters for the day (Papa & Nana Mejeur) and planned out the day. We spent the night in Kalamazoo Friday night so we could get a very early start Saturday morning. The MI football team locker room was open for viewing from 7:30 to 9:30am, so we got there by 8am to check it out! At 10am the gates opened to the Big House and we found a front row seat. Normally for games we are in section 35 about 60 rows up in the end zone, but since we got our pick of any seat, we went to the front row in section 40. It was a great pick as Mitch was able to see a lot of MI athletes- past, present, and future (recruits)- and try to get their attention as they walked through the tunnel and around to the other side of the stadium to saved seats. Although it was a very windy, cloudy, and cold day, we had a lot of fun! At 11am they had an alumni game where we watched MI football greats like John Navarre, Ronald Bellamy, and Rick "The Peach" Leach. The coaches of the alumni teams were Lamar Woodley and Desmond Howard...the best of MI's players. At noon the present MI team had warm-ups and started a controlled scrimmage for the rest of the day. We got up close glimpses of Tate and Coach Rich-Rod, many MI basketball players and Coach John Beilein, Brandon Graham (there to receive an award), and even Braylon Edwards' dad. It was great to have a fun day for just the two of us, enjoying time together and checking out the future Wolverines for the 2010 season!
